Once your narrator has been hired, you're ready to start production.
If you're an audiobook narrator who has been hired for a production, follow the steps in this article: ➜Audiobook Production as a Narrator.
- Connect with the narrator via the message box to discuss the production timeline.
- The narrator will download your manuscript and connect with you via the message box to discuss any questions about the manuscript, opening credits script, or closing credits script.
- The narrator will begin recording the audiobook and export files to meet all audio requirements.
- The narrator will upload all necessary audio tracks including:
- Once the tracks have been uploaded, they will let you know via the message box and clicking the "Mark as Complete" button.
- You can listen to the audiobook within the web browser or by clicking the "Download Audiobook" button to listen to it on your computer.
- If necessary, provide the narrator with notes for any rerecords required. When giving the narrator notes, please be as specific as possible and include the track name or file name as well as the timestamp of the issue.
- Once you are happy with all audio files, the author can click the "Mark as Complete" button and leave a review for the narrator. These reviews are currently not public, but may be in the future.
- Once both the author and narrator have clicked the "Mark as Complete" button the project will move on to the distribution phase.
- Your project will automatically move from the My Audiobooks production tab, to the My Audiobooks distribution tab.
- You'll need to add a few additional details to your project in order to submit for distribution.
- Get Started Tab > Add the name of your narrator.
- Audio & Covers Tab > Upload your cover art.
- Review all metadata, cover art, and audio files (including the sort order of the chapter tracks).
- Submit your audiobook for distribution.
- Author's Republic will release payment to the narrator approximately 45 days after both the narrator and the author mark the production as completed.
Note: If the files are submitted for review during the distribution phase and do not meet all audio requirements, we will reach out to the narrator via email to make the necessary adjustments to the audio files.
