All Author’s Republic users are required to submit a tax form in order to submit audiobook projects, generate royalties, and join the narrator roster.
How to submit a tax form:
- In the left hand navigation, access "My Account".
- Navigate to the "Tax Forms & ID" tab.
- From the "Choose a Tax Form" drop down menu, select the appropriate form based on your location and company status.
- W9: US citizen or company, living in the US or abroad
- W8-BEN: Individual non-US citizen
- W8-BEN-E: Non-US company
- W8-EXP: Non-US based tax exempt organization
- Digitally fill out the information, sign it, and submit the form.
Our team will review your information and approve your account or contact you if there are any issues.
What is the purpose of tax forms?
Depending on your country, we may or may not hold back any portion of your payment for income tax purposes. This means in some cases you are responsible for paying income tax on your earnings to the government of your home country; and we're responsible for proving that you're going to do it. This is the only reason we collect a tax form from you.
What if I don't want to submit a tax form?
Unfortunately, without the required account information, we are unable to approve your account or allow project submissions.
